What You’ll Be Doing

As a Senior Analyst, Cloud FinOps & Service Governance, you will be supporting the financial and contractual governance of our technology infrastructure services. You will use a variety of tools and processes to establish and implement a robust practice to achieve effective cost management, using meaningful analytics from both structured and unstructured data. These outputs will be used to provide effective decision support guidance for our internal partners and senior executives. You will work with a variety of stakeholders to deliver infrastructure service management including usage reporting and financial total cost of ownership (TCO). How You’ll Succeed

  • 3rd Party Supplier management: Must have prior experience managing technology supplier governance and cost optimization practices.
  • Data Engineering and Data Science: Must have an awareness of current tools and methods used to support data engineering and data science analytics to provide insight and decision support for Senior Executives and management within CIBC. Strong knowledge of DAX and Microsoft PowerBI.
  • Financial Management Expertise: Must have prior work experience with core financial management and accounting activities such as planning, forecasting, accruals, and financial variance reporting.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 3–7 year’s experience in cloud computing, FinOps operating models, and technology vendor governance in enterprise environments.
  • The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or technology, and demonstrates advanced proficiency with Microsoft Power BI and DAX, as well as hands‑on experience with Azure cloud solutions.
  • Skilled in applying data engineering and data science methods to analyze both structured and unstructured data, delivering actionable insights and decision support to senior executives.
  • Your financial management expertise includes budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and financial variance analysis.
  • Excel in creative problem‑solving, thrive in ambiguous situations, and can seamlessly transition between strategic thinking and detailed execution.
