DATATRONiQ is a deep-tech startup from Germany for Industrial IoT and Edge AI. As a Senior Backend Developer, you will build the Go services for our platform. They range from data streams from production to inference at the edge. Your code will ingest telemetry from running machine parks, initiate ML pipelines, and deliver insights to the dashboard. About the Role

Our platform collects telemetry from sensors and controls of modern machine parks. Behind this run Go microservices that process data in real-time, feed anomaly and quality models, and deliver results to the frontend and customers. Some of the services run in the edge cluster at the customer's site, others in the cloud.

Your Stack: Go at its core, alongside very high test coverage and common open-source components. This includes custom Kubernetes operators, Helm deployments, and observability with Prometheus. You will write new services, extend existing ones, build and maintain our Kubernetes operators, and advance our platform step by step.

We work in a small, closely coordinated team. Code reviews and pair programming are an integral part of everyday life. On Fridays, we show each other interesting findings on the web and new tools in our Show-and-Tell sessions. As a backend developer, you will be responsible for the core of the platform: frontend, data science, and DevOps rely on your services daily.

What are your tasks?

• You develop and deploy Go microservices that ingest, process, and redistribute industrial telemetry.
• You maintain our Kubernetes operators and develop new ones – from API design and reconciliation loops to production rollout.
• You are responsible for stability and performance – tests, benchmarks, monitoring, and tracing are part of your core competencies.
• You collaborate with frontend, ML, and DevOps – API specs, interface versions, and joint roadmap decisions are handled by you.
• You automate manual processes – tooling, scripts, CI pipelines, wherever you see potential and know how to do it better.
• You take responsibility for technical decisions – architecture, libraries, build tooling – and bring new development practices to the team.

What should you bring?

• At least three years of practical Go experience in service architectures; other languages are a plus.
• Proficient in Kubernetes: deploy own services and operators, read logs and metrics, support in post-mortem analyses.
• Professional API design – idiomatic REST, Protobuf, documentation, versioning, backward compatibility.
• A good sense for software design – when a queue helps, when a cache hurts, when both need to be removed.
• Very good English skills, both written and spoken.
• Bonus: Experience with time series, stream processing, or IoT protocols (e.g., OPC-UA, MQTT).
• Bonus: Curiosity about AI/ML in a service context – model inference, retrieval, feature pipelines.
