Location: Canada (major hubs – Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, or remote within Canada)
Employment Type: Full‑time, Permanent
Company Overview
We are a leading technology firm driving digital transformation for enterprise‑scale customers across North America. Our teams design, build, and operate mission‑critical cloud platforms that power innovative products and services. Join a fast‑growing, collaborative environment where engineering excellence and continuous learning are celebrated.
Role Summary
As a Cloud & Infrastructure Platform Engineer, you will be the technical backbone for large‑scale cloud migrations and the ongoing operation of our multi‑cloud infrastructure. You’ll design, implement, and maintain highly available, secure, and automated environments on AWS, Azure, and GCP, while providing deep expertise in server configuration, certificate management, and distributed‑system troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
| Area | What You’ll Do |
|---|---|
| Cloud Migration & Architecture | • Lead end‑to‑end migration projects for enterprise workloads across AWS, Azure, and GCP. • Design scalable, resilient architectures that meet performance, cost, and security targets. • Develop migration roadmaps, runbooks, and post‑migration validation plans. |
| Infrastructure Services | • Build and maintain IaC (Infrastructure‑as‑Code) pipelines using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates, or Pulumi. • Automate provisioning, configuration, and patching of compute, storage, networking, and database services. • Implement observability (metrics, logs, tracing) and alerting for all platform components. |
| Server & Configuration Management | • Manage Linux/Windows server fleets using Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or SaltStack. • Harden OS images, enforce baseline security standards, and ensure compliance with industry frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI‑DSS). |
| Certificate & Identity Management | • Design and operate PKI solutions (AWS ACM, Azure Key Vault, GCP Certificate Authority Service). • Automate certificate issuance, rotation, and revocation across services and edge devices. • Integrate with identity providers (Okta, Azure AD, IAM) for SSO and least‑privilege access. |
| Troubleshooting & Support | • Diagnose and resolve complex, distributed‑system issues (network latency, service failures, data consistency). • Provide Tier‑2/3 support for production incidents; lead post‑mortems and drive root‑cause remediation. |
| Collaboration & Communication | • Partner with development, security, and operations teams to embed platform best practices. • Produce clear technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and knowledge‑base articles. • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to community of practice sessions. |
Required Qualifications
| Category | Minimum Requirements |
|---|---|
| Experience | • 5–10 years of professional engineering experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps. • Proven track record delivering enterprise‑scale cloud migrations (≥10 TB data, multi‑region workloads). |
| Cloud Expertise | • Deep hands‑on experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (compute, networking, storage, IAM, security services). |
| Automation & IaC | • Proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates, or Pulumi. • Scripting fluency in Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Go. |
| Server & OS Management | • Strong Linux (RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu) and Windows Server administration. • Experience with configuration‑management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt). |
| Certificate Management | • Working knowledge of PKI, TLS/SSL lifecycle, and cloud‑native certificate services (ACM, Key Vault, Certificate Authority Service). |
| Networking & Distributed Systems | • Understanding of VPC/VNet, subnets, routing, VPN/Direct Connect, load balancing, DNS, and service mesh concepts. • Ability to troubleshoot latency, concurrency, and consistency issues in micro‑service architectures. |
| Security & Compliance | • Familiarity with security frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI‑DSS) and cloud‑native security controls (IAM policies, security groups, firewall rules). |
| Communication | • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences. |
| Education / Certifications | • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience. • Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect. |
