Hybrid Cloud Engineer

Role Summary

JS Technology Solutions is a Chicago-based boutique technology consulting firm with longstanding public-sector clients. We are staffing for an upcoming engagement and are evaluating contractors for a multi-month assignment.

• Hybrid Cloud Engineer assigned to a large enterprise Server Operations team
• Design, evaluation, and implementation of cloud services and cloud-native architectures
• Hybrid infrastructure troubleshooting across roughly 1,800 servers (Dell hardware plus Hyper-V virtual servers)
• Compliance and security posture across connected cloud platforms
• Participation in a Windows server 24x7 on-call rotation

Engagement Model

• Contract; W2 or 1099 acceptable
• Hybrid: remote with periodic onsite presence at a Chicago location
• Schedule: 9 AM to 5 PM CST, Monday through Friday
• Duration: initial term through June 30, 2026 with extension potential through December 31, 2026
• Hours: 40 per week

Required Experience

• 5+ years Windows Server 2008 through 2022 in Hyper-V or System Center Virtual Machine Manager environments
• Microsoft Failover Clustering, Host/OS patching, migrations, Azure administration
• API Management plus Azure Data Factory hands-on
• Comprehensive understanding of PaaS, SaaS, IaaS delivery models
• Comfortable with on-call rotations

• OpenShift Container Platform plus Kubernetes
• PowerShell, Python, Terraform, C# scripting
• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert / AWS SysOps / Red Hat OpenShift certifications
