About the Role

Cortrucent LLC is seeking a Senior Infrastructure to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of client and internal IT environments. This role combines deep technical expertise across cloud, on-premise infrastructure, and cybersecurity with pre-sales engineering and solution design.

You will be responsible for delivering secure, scalable infrastructure solutions while also partnering with leadership and sales to scope and architect client engagements. This is a hands-on role requiring both engineering execution and strategic input.

What You’ll Do

Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering

• Design, deploy, and manage hybrid environments across cloud (Azure/M365/AWS) and on-premise infrastructure
• Administer and support core platforms, including:
  • Servers (Windows / Linux)
  • Networking (firewalls, VPNs, SD-WAN, Switching, VLANs & routing)
  • Hyperconverged infrastructure (e.g., Nutanix, HCI stacks)
  • Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, AHV)
  • Business-critical applications
• Ensure high availability, performance optimization, and disaster recovery readiness
• Support software development and data teams
• Lead infrastructure migrations, upgrades, and modernization initiatives
• Support identity, access, and Zero Trust frameworks.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver end-to-end IT solutions.

Security Engineering & Operations

• Implement, configure, and manage security solutions across client environments, including:
  • Firewalls (Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, Palo Alto, SonicWall, etc.)
  • Web Application Firewalls (WAF)
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and identity security
  • Certificate lifecycle management (PKI, SSL/TLS)
  • Microsoft 365 and Azure security (MFA, Conditional Access, etc.)
• Conduct and remediate:
  • Vulnerability assessments and scanning
  • Penetration test findings
  • Security audits and compliance gaps
• Monitor and respond to security events, ensuring timely remediation and risk reduction
• Enforce security best practices and “secure-by-design” architecture

Pre-Sales Engineering & Solution Design

• Partner with leadership and sales to:
  • Scope technical requirements for prospective clients
  • Design secure, scalable IT and security solutions
  • Assist in developing statements of work (SOWs) and project estimates
  • Participate in client-facing meetings as the technical subject matter expert
  • Translate business needs into actionable technical architectures

Implementation & Delivery

• Lead deployment of infrastructure and security solutions (hardware and software)
• Perform system installations, configurations, and cutovers
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with best practices
• Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks
• Provide after-hours and on-call emergency support as required, including evenings, weekends, and during critical maintenance windows or incident response situations

Leadership & Collaboration

• Coach, mentor, and support junior engineers and technical staff
• Act as a technical escalation point for complex issues
• Collaborate closely with leadership on technology strategy and service offerings
• Drive continuous improvement across processes, tooling, and service delivery

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, engineering, and networking.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Microsoft ecosystem (Azure, M365, Active Directory)
  • Networking experience fundamentals (firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, routing)
  • Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, AHV)
  • Endpoint and identity security controls
• Active Microsoft Cloud Certifications, such as:
  • Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
  • Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert (MS-102 or equivalent)
• Active CCNA or Network+
• Proven experience deploying and managing security technologies
• Ability to scope, design, and deliver client solutions end-to-end
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship — current or future

Bonus Points For

• Certifications like AZ-500, CCNP, Security+, ISC2 CC, CISSP or CCSP.
• Consulting or Managed Service Provider (MSSP, MSP) background.
• Familiarity with compliance & security frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, NIST, ISO, HITRUST, etc.)
