Requirements
- Active Secret security clearance or higher is mandatory.
- Bachelors degree with 5-8+ years of pertinent experience, or a Masters degree with 6 years of relevant experience, or a PhD with 4 years of relevant experience, or 12 years of relevant experience without a degree.
- Familiarity with various software and/or hardware testing techniques throughout the development lifecycle.
- Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and independently manage multiple project tasks.
- Strong understanding of computer hardware and software systems, capable of verifying proper implementation and functionality across different systems and interfaces.
- Capability to translate requirements and user stories into actionable test plans.
- Strong analytical skills to identify, characterize, and isolate issues, along with troubleshooting skills to suggest solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for crafting clear test plans and conducting product presentations.
- Ability to promptly document and communicate defects, working closely with development teams and management to prioritize resolution.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate as part of an agile software development testing team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while learning new tools and methodologies.
- Test innovative, mission-critical software across multiple platforms (e.g., Windows, Linux, Android), ensuring seamless integration with wireless services and custom hardware.
- Validate software requirements via functional, usability, performance, security, compatibility, ad-hoc, internationalization, and regression tests.
- Create, maintain, and execute test plans and procedures for software systems.
- Engage in cross-functional team meetings, contributing to decision-making, technical discussions, and defining new product features.
- Review user stories and backlog items, assess testability of requirements, and provide constructive feedback.
- Utilize analytical and problem-solving skills to clarify user stories and identify suitable testing scenarios to verify product development against specifications.
- Proactively identify issues and communicate their impact to software developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to support timely resolutions.
- Showcase software capabilities to key stakeholders at the end of sprints to ensure alignment with customer expectations.
- Conduct test case reviews, ensuring all testing activities are executed and documented per client standards.
- Set up hardware and software testing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and isolate system malfunctions.
- Accurately document defects and collaborate with the development team to prioritize bug fixes.
- Clearly communicate open issues and risks to management and provide recommendations in a timely manner.
