Senior Data Engineer (AI / ML Focus)

About Our client is seeking a senior Data Engineer to support AI-driven analytics initiatives within a financial services environment. This role will focus on building and optimizing large-scale data solutions, enabling AI/ML models, and supporting collections analytics and related enterprise data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and backend data solutions
• Develop and optimize data workflows using Python and PySpark
• Support AI/ML initiatives by preparing and engineering data for model development and deployment
• Work with large, complex datasets across modern and legacy systems
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver data solutions aligned to business requirements
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and performance across data platforms
• Contribute to ongoing enhancements and support of enterprise data environments

Must-Have Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering or backend development within data environments
• Strong hands-on expertise with Python and PySpark
• Experience supporting AI/ML initiatives and data pipelines for model development
• Strong experience within banking or financial services environments
• Experience working with both modern and legacy systems (Oracle, SQL Server, Mainframe)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver within timelines

Nice-to-Have

• Certifications in AI, Machine Learning, or Data Science
• Experience with AI tools or coding assistants (e.g., Copilot)

Additional Details

• Hybrid role: minimum 2 days onsite in one of several U.S. hub locations (e.g., NJ, NY, FL, NC, MA, VA)
• 40 hours/week, no overtime expected
