Senior Data Engineer and Architect

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer and Architect. This is a Contract role based in Melville, NY that will last for approximately 2 months and has the potential to transition to a permanent position.

Position Details:

Location: Melville, NY 11101 (Hybrid)

Salary: $60/hr. on W2

Description: In this role, you will work closely with the client’s enterprise architect and mentor an offshore data analytics team. Your innovative contributions will be key in driving our data architecture and engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities: • Architect cloud data solutions utilizing platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure. • Design comprehensive data architectures in GCP utilizing tools such as Big Query, Data Flow, Data Proc, and Cloud Composer. • Develop modern data lake and data warehouse architectures implementing best practices. • Create logical and physical data models, data flow diagrams, and integration patterns. • Lead modernization initiatives to migrate legacy platforms to GCP. • Guide data engineering teams by establishing standards and reusable frameworks. • Optimize Big Query performance for enhanced project outcomes. • Implement frameworks for data quality, metadata management, and observability. • Drive the adoption of CI/CD practices through tools like Cloud Build and Terraform. • Establish data governance standards and ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, and other regulations.

Additional Responsibilities: • Participate in process flow development and data maintenance. • Provide knowledge transfer and mentor project team members. • Contribute to project deliverables related to assigned responsibilities. • Offer best practices and innovative solutions tailored to industry needs. • Engage actively within the functional team to drive success. • Perform additional duties as assigned.
