senior Data Scientist / Data Engineer

About

We are looking for a senior Data Scientist / Data Engineer to join a global pharmaceutical client and help build scalable, reliable, and high-performing data platforms supporting analytics, reporting, and advanced data science initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data workflows
• Build and optimize data models for analytics and reporting
• Implement automation for data pipelines using CI/CD practices
• Monitor data jobs and troubleshoot failures or performance issues
• Support data consumption for:
  • BI dashboards and reporting tools
  • Data science and advanced analytics teams
  • APIs and custom business applications
• Work with structured and semi-structured datasets (CSV, JSON, Parquet, etc.)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable data solutions

Requirements

• Strong experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT design, and data modeling
• Advanced SQL skills for data transformation and analysis
• Strong programming experience with:
  • Python (mandatory)
  • SQL (mandatory)
  • Java or Scala is a plus
• Experience with data lakes and data warehouses
• Strong understanding of performance optimization and scalable data architecture
• Experience with cloud-based or enterprise-scale data environments
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

• Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare environments
• Experience with modern orchestration or automation frameworks
• Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices

• Location and time zone : USA, New Jersey. While the role is based in the USA, strong profiles from Europe can also be considered if they align well with the role requirements and meet client expectations.
