Our client is a dynamic research and development company based in Villach, Carinthia, at the forefront of technological innovation. We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team and contribute to the development of future-oriented algorithms and models.

Your Role

Your main task is the conception, development, and implementation of machine learning models and data-driven solutions to tackle complex scientific and technical challenges. You will analyze large and complex datasets, identify patterns and trends, and derive insights that serve as the basis for strategic decisions. The selection and application of suitable machine learning algorithms (e.g., Supervised/Unsupervised Learning, Deep Learning), their training, validation, and optimization are also part of your responsibilities, as is the development of robust and scalable ML pipelines. You will work closely with researchers and engineers from various disciplines to develop innovative applications and improve data-driven products. Presenting results and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including through meaningful visualizations, is an important part of your activity. You will actively contribute to the further development of our data analysis and machine learning strategies and stay informed about the latest research findings and technologies.

What We're Looking For

We expect you to have a completed Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field. Several years of practical experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer is essential. You have profound knowledge in programming, especially in Python and/or R, as well as experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn). You are familiar with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and have experience working with large datasets and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of statistical methods and algorithms, and pronounced problem-solving competencies are essential. Excellent communication skills in German and English, as well as the ability to convey complex technical concepts understandably, are advantageous.
