About Ipsos
Ipsos is one of the world's leading market research companies. We discover deep insights and provide clear recommendations to support our clients in making important decisions. Our Data Science team works on the digital transformation of processes, data products, and customer-specific solutions in the areas of Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Reporting/Visualization. The team is also involved in building a Data Lake and an Analytics Platform.
We are looking for a (Senior) Data Scientist (w/m/d) for our Data Science department at one of our locations in Munich or Hamburg, to start as soon as possible.
Your Role
As a Data Scientist with us, you play a central role in developing our Data Warehouse and Analytics Platform. You will develop and implement innovative data science and analytics solutions that drive company growth, generate new insights for our clients from various industries, and foster innovation. You will have the opportunity to work with exciting and diverse data, use modern algorithms and technologies, and contribute to solutions that create real added value for our clients.
- You play a significant role in operating and further developing our Data Warehouse and Analytics Platform using Python and state-of-the-art data-based Google Cloud architecture.
- You will implement and optimize existing data processing pipelines for large, multinational client projects, focusing on standardization and automation.
- You will design and implement software solutions for analyzing structured and unstructured data from surveys, customer databases, and other sources.
- Together with your team, you will advise internal and external stakeholders on efficient data and decision-making processes and translate available data into decision-relevant insights using analytical methods and visualization techniques.
- You will work with a modern stack of data engineering and analysis tools – e.g., Python, Docker, Google Cloud, Tableau – and, together with the team, develop pragmatic automation solutions for complex analysis processes.
What you bring
- You have 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering and Data Science, as well as in multivariate data analysis and visualization, and are curious about learning new technologies.
- You have sound knowledge of Python and practical experience with relevant libraries (pandas, numpy, pytest, etc.) and are familiar with ETL / ELT processes, common data exchange protocols, interfaces, and data formats. Experience with database systems / SQL and GCP or similar platforms, and working in agile teams, is a plus!
- Very good quantitative degree (M.Sc.), e.g., in STEM, Quantitative Social Sciences, Business Informatics, or related fields.
- You enjoy working in a team, have a solution-oriented in-house consulting mentality, and want to actively drive topics forward rather than waiting for instructions.
- You work in a structured and careful manner – accuracy is important to you.
- You are fluent in English (written and spoken) - German is an advantage!
