Senior Datacenter Engineer

Major Tasks

• Leading the transformation of the Group datacenter and server infrastructure to a global and centrally managed world with a strong focus on security and automation
• Evaluating and deciding for best practice technology in alignment with IT security and our global IT strategy
• Responsibility for administration and optimization of a Microsoft Windows based server farm including MS-SQL and other databases, Active Directory and application servers.
• Improving the HA and backup systems, configuration, SW-deployment and monitoring infrastructure
• Implementing automation and remote management technologies
• Establishing worldwide change, incident and maintenance processes for the hosted applications
• Consolidation, Migration and centralization of server into own premise or Cloud
• Incident management on software and hardware
• Training internal colleagues
• (Potential for leading a small team in the future)
• Manage externals

Requirements

• University Degree in Computer science or similar education
• Several years of working experience in a similar role in an international preferable family-owned business
• Top knowledge in the areas of datacenter operations including backup, network but also power and fire protection infrastructure
• Familiar with technologies like Nutanix and Cisco Nexus, Veeam and Azure Cloud Services
• Experience in automation with PS and application monitoring
• Good and open communication skills with internal and external partners
• Multi-tasker, team player with a positive attitude working autonomously, proactively and reliably
• Need to have a structured and methodical approach
• Fluent in German and English
