Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering or a related discipline
  • At least 10 years of hands-on experience in embedded software development
  • Proven capability to interface directly with target hardware, utilizing lab equipment for debugging and analysis
  • Proficient in C programming language
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office suite
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills with a results-driven mindset
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded C software for microcontroller-based systems; VHDL firmware for FPGA systems may also be involved
  • Investigate and integrate new components, technologies and methods into designs
  • Create tools for the manufacturing, calibration and verification processes of safety-critical products
  • Assemble and troubleshoot hardware, utilizing basic soldering skills and operating test equipment in both office and lab environments
  • Develop and execute testing programs to ensure compliance with relevant performance, regulatory and quality standards
  • Document and design using required formats such as BOMs, ECOs and work instructions
