Senior Load Balancer Engineer

Position Description

• Lead and/or work on the most complex IT infrastructure, including modification, installation, testing, implementation, and support of new or existing system hardware and software products.
• Plan, install, configure, test, implement, and manage core system hardware and software products to support the organization’s IT architecture and business needs.
• Install, configure, and maintain all F5 Local Traffic Manager (LTM) and Global Traffic Manager (GTM) load balancer functions, including creating virtual servers, pools/pool members, nodes, monitors, and iRules.
• Provide load‑balance support for cloud service providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, IBM Cloud), including planning and upgrading systems, health monitoring, and making necessary changes.
• Analyze issues reported by internal/external teams, make recommendations, and design system architecture.
• Work with customers to test applications after changes.
• Upgrade hardware with minimal downtime, evaluate new application/software technologies, and ensure security products are regularly patched.

Skills Required

• In‑depth knowledge of F5 VIPRION LTM and GTM systems.
• Experience with virtual F5 VIPRION LTM/GTMs and migration from physical to virtual F5 or other cloud‑based load balancers.
• Familiarity with VMware ARVI across cloud providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud).
• Expertise in global load balancing, local load balancing, SSL acceleration, HTTP compression/caching, and DNS.

Experience Required

• Minimum 3 years configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting F5 load‑balancing VIPRION solutions in enterprise environments.
• At least 3 years as a network administrator using, configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting Cisco network equipment in enterprise environments.
• Minimum 2 years using, configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting cloud‑based load balancers, servers, and network systems for enterprise environments.
