Position Overview

  • Oversee the technical design, configuration, and daily operations of the ServiceNow platform, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.
  • This hybrid role involves managing platform upgrades, writing custom scripts (JavaScript), integrating external applications, and translating business requirements into technical workflows.
  • Combines senior-level development with high-level administrative oversight.
  • Lead development, configure workflows, script (JavaScript), manage integrations (REST/SOAP), oversee system upgrades, ensure CMDB data quality, and enforce governance.

A Day In The Life

  • Major Technical Proficiencies:

    • Expert-level knowledge of lists, forms, navigation, and core system properties.
    • Establish and enforce policies for development, access control (ACLs), and data management.
    • Mastery of JavaScript and ServiceNow-specific APIs like GlideRecord and GlideAjax.
    • Proficiency in building Business Rules, Script Includes, and Client Scripts.
    • Expertise in Flow Designer, Orchestration, and legacy Workflows.
    • Manage IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs, Business Rules, ACLs, and MID Server configurations.
    • Define current-state and target-state architecture ensuring CSDM and ITIL v4 alignment.
  • Communication & Reporting:

    • Gather requirements from business users.
    • Report project status, risks, and issues to management and stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and external partners.
  • Process Governance & Continuous Improvement:

    • Maintain and evolve ITSM processes aligned with ITIL best practices.
    • Define and update SLAs, escalation paths, and communication templates.
    • Align incident thresholds with IT leadership.
    • Use Continual Improvement Management module for process efficiencies and automation.
  • Analytics & Reporting:

    • Design and maintain Performance Analytics frameworks and executive dashboards.
    • Present insights during operational reviews and service reports.
    • Create dashboards and reports tracking key metrics like incident volume, duration, MTTR, SLA adherence, and recurrence.

You'll Come With

  • Scope and Impact:

    • Coordinate and communicate all major incidents across the enterprise.
    • Manage platform hygiene including upgrades, CMDB health, and security logs.
    • Design complex, high-code solutions when out-of-the-box features are insufficient.
    • Establish governance policies ensuring ITIL and security compliance.
    • Improve operational efficiency through advanced Flow Designer automation and self-service portals.
  • Education and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
    • 5+ years in Service Management with at least 4 years focused on ServiceNow Development and Administration.
  • Platform Administration:

    • Manage day-to-day operations including user roles, data management, and access controls.
    • Conduct technical audits of mature environments.
  • Advanced Development:

    • Build custom applications and features using JavaScript, Glide API, and Flow Designer.
    • Expertise in creating Business Rules, Script Includes, and Client Scripts.
  • Strong background in ServiceNow and enterprise monitoring tools.

  • Deep understanding of ITIL processes, especially Incident, Problem, and Change Management.

  • Certifications:

    • ITIL Foundation or higher.
    • ServiceNow Administrator Certification (CSA).
    • ServiceNow Developer Certification (CAD).
    • ServiceNow Implementation Certifications (ITSM, CMDB & CSDM).
