Purpose

The Senior Financial Analyst will become an expert on all financial elements that impact the Company and perform in-depth financial analysis to evaluate current and future fiscal impacts. The Senior Financial Analyst will assist Company management evaluate current and future opportunities for optimization through financial modeling, forecasting, cost analysis, internal auditing, the preparation and presentation of comparative market data research, and maintain the financial reporting packages

Responsibilities

  • Develop financial models through market analysis, benchmarking, and process analysis
  • Forecast monthly, quarterly and annual profits of assigned projects, business units, and/or companies
  • Prepare cost projections of assigned comedies, markets, projects, business units, and/or companies
  • Analyze and report on current financial status of assigned projects, business units, and/or companies
  • Conduct thorough research of historical financial data to forecast future costs as well as identify potential cost saving solutions
  • Explore potential M&A investment options and forecast impact of potential risk and opportunities through financial modeling and analysis
  • Coordinate long-term financial planning activities with the Chief Financial Office and other members of Company management
  • Compare anticipated and actual results and identify areas of improvement
  • Participate in budgeting (for departments and projects)
  • Review accounting transactions for data accuracy
  • Assist Chief financial Officer in establishing and optimizing financial procedures and policies
  • Prepare and present the results of the analysis, including graphics and charts, in a clear and concise manner to intercompany teams and external groups
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and investment decisions
  • Perform internal audit assignments as requested
  • All other duties as assigned by Company management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to be organized and highly detail-oriented; accustomed to allocating time to double-check work
  • Ability to think commercially about the needs and requirements of different client groups, including investment management firms, brokers, and lenders
  • Ability to work effectively both as an individual and as part of a team are a must
  • Ability to simplify and effectively communicate complex ideas in writing and through data visualization techniques to diverse audiences
  • Ability to prioritize assignments
  • Ability to communicate professionally in verbal and written form
  • Possess exceptionally strong Excel skills, including but not limited to, VBA, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and other complex formulas
  • Possess strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and deliver results with minimal supervision
  • Ability to proficiently utilize MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

Experience

  • 5+ years of accounting related experience in a major company or a division of a large corporation
  • Prior experience building financial modeling utilizing data analytics required
  • Candidate with previous construction industry experience preferred.
  • Candidates with previous experience working for a privately held company preferred.
  • Candidates with previous experience working with multi-entity organization preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to be physically seated for long periods of time in a standard issue desk chair
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments when required
  • Ability to visually tolerate prolonged exposure to computer screens, mobile device (phones, tablets, etc.) screens
  • Ability to read documents and materials in hard and soft copy form (either naturally or with corrective lenses)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to and including 15 lb. objects as required

Education

Bachelor of Science degree in actuarial science, business administration, accounting, finance, or related field of study is required; however, candidates with significant accounting or other finance related experience will be considered in lieu of education
