The Senior Global Marketing Manager – Lab Specimen Management, will play a pivotal role within BD’s Lab Specimen Management business, leading global commercial strategy and execution for one of our most critical product platforms. Urine is a fundamental diagnostic specimen that enables timely detection, diagnosis, and monitoring across a wide range of conditions—making high‑quality collection essential to patient care. This role is responsible for the strategic direction, portfolio management, and financial performance of the BD Vacutainer® Urine Collection Portfolio – a high‑growth market segment offering significant opportunity to drive and accelerate global expansion.
This individual will identify growth opportunities, align stakeholders around a clear strategic roadmap, and partner cross‑functionally to advance market development efforts and commercial initiatives that elevate BD’s leadership in the urine collection market. The role is essential to accelerating global growth and strengthening BD’s leadership position in this high‑potential segment.
Responsibilities
Portfolio Leadership & Commercial Strategy
- Lead global management of the BD Vacutainer® Urine Collection portfolio, including commercial strategy, financial performance, demand planning, and product lifecycle oversight.
- Develop and deliver annual global strategic and marketing plans, providing direction and frameworks for regional teams to localize and execute.
- Analyze market, customer, and competitive trends and insights to shape global strategy and identify growth opportunities.
Marketing Excellence
- Define and maintain global market segmentation, prioritization, and customer targeting frameworks to guide focused commercial execution.
- Establish portfolio positioning, differentiated value propositions, and core messaging platforms to ensure consistency and impact across regions.
- Lead development of global campaigns and marketing assets that communicate core messaging and enable strong regional execution of global strategy, including messaging toolkits, value frameworks, and sales enablement assets.
Innovation & New Product Development
- Identify and evaluate new product development opportunities that align with customer needs and BD’s innovation strategy, supported by robust business cases that quantify commercial potential, including market size, customer requirements, competitive landscape, pricing, and projected financial impact.
- Partner with R&D, Medical Affairs, HEOR, and regional experts to ensure new product concepts are clinically relevant, economically differentiated, and aligned to global needs.
Evidence Generation & Market Shaping
- Identify global evidence needs and partner with Medical Affairs and HEOR to define data requirements that strengthen clinical, operational, and economic value.
- Support development and execution of evidence generation plans, including key studies and real‑world data initiatives that enable market adoption.
- Engage KOLs and strategic influencers to validate insights and disseminate evidence across priority channels and markets.
- Lead BD’s presence at scientific and industry conferences, guiding abstract development, presentations, and other activities that amplify evidence and support market development.
Cross‑Functional & Regional Collaboration
- Serve as the global marketing lead, partnering closely with regional marketing, sales, R&D, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Operations, Finance, and Regulatory teams to enable alignment and flawless execution.
- Guide regional marketing teams on portfolio strategy, messaging, pricing guidelines, product launches, and tactical campaign plans.
Governance, Compliance & Organizational Excellence
- Ensure global adherence to BD policies, quality systems, brand standards, and business ethics.
- Model and reinforce a culture of accountability, data‑driven decision‑making, and high‑performance collaboration across teams.
- Contribute to organizational capability building by sharing insights, best practices, and strategic direction with global and regional stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education
- BS/BA in business, science, marketing, or health care required
- MBA is strongly desired
Experience
- At least 5 to 8+ years of relevant marketing or commercial experience in life sciences, biotechnology, or another healthcare field with a consistent track‑record of performance and results required
