Senior Infrastructure Engineer

About

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer acts in coordination with our Head of IT as the technical owner for the design, stability, security, and evolution of the core IT infrastructure. This is a high-level individual contributor role focused on deep technical expertise. While providing mentorship and guidance to site IT teams, the role focuses purely on technical leadership and strategic ownership of our international infrastructure.

Tasks

• VMware vSphere administration in production environments
• Windows Server administration
• Veeam Backup & Recovery
• Enterprise networking fundamentals (VLANs, routing concepts, CLI-based switching)
• Sophos firewall administration (policy management, VPN basics)
• Microsoft 365 and Entra ID administration
• Active Directory consolidation
• Identity, MFA, and SSO integration concepts
• Incident response collaboration with MDR providers (e.g., Arctic Wolf)

Profile

• NinjaOne or similar RMM tooling
• PowerShell automation (infrastructure-safe)
• SharePoint / Microsoft 365 migrations
• ERP system operational support (Business Central preferred)
• Manufacturing or regulated IT environments
• Multi-site or post-acquisition IT integration experience
• Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
• Independent, structured, and reliable working style
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities
• Clear technical communication skills
• Ability to mentor and support less-experienced IT staff
• Calm and methodical approach during incidents
• Documentation-driven mindset
