Our AI Development department serves as a catalyst for Data & AI Transformation. We take a holistic approach, ranging from the initial evaluation of AI maturity, through the conception and elaboration of the data and AI solution, to the practical implementation and scaling of AI solutions. Through our in-depth expertise in Data Engineering, Data Science, and Machine Learning, we ensure that our customers derive maximum benefit from their data.

Your Tasks

Focus: Development and productive use of machine learning solutions with a special focus on time series forecasting as well as anomaly detection and predictive maintenance on sensor and process data

• You develop and implement machine learning solutions for forecasting, anomaly detection, and predictive maintenance.
• You design robust end-to-end solutions from data preparation and feature generation to model evaluation and productive deployment.
• You select the appropriate methods depending on the use case and implement them, from statistical baselines to modern machine learning and deep learning methods.
• You regularly collaborate with internal stakeholders and customer representatives, ensuring close coordination and teamwork.
• You support the setup of stable ML Engineering and MLOps setups across cloud, on-prem, and production environments and accompany the integration of models into industrial or production-related systems, considering requirements such as latency, security, and limited resources.
• You present technical solution concepts and handle technical communication with clients during proposal and acquisition processes.
• You continuously monitor current developments in the field of time series and forecasting and apply this knowledge specifically in customer projects.

Your Profile

• You have at least five years of practical experience in machine learning or data science with a clear focus on time series and forecasting.
• You have in-depth expertise in forecasting and practical experience in anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, or comparable sensor-based use cases.
• You have very good Python skills and practical experience with libraries and frameworks such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, darts, statsforecast, neuralforecast, or comparable tools.
• You have experience with statistical, feature-based, and modern neural forecasting methods such as ARIMA or ETS, LightGBM or XGBoost, N-BEATSx or N-HiTS, TFT or PatchTST, as well as with newer time series foundation models like TimesFM, Chronos, TimeGPT, or Moirai.
• You have a good understanding of practical forecasting topics such as multi-horizon forecasting, backtesting, probabilistic forecasts, and ideally hierarchical reconciliation.
• Experience in decision optimization such as pricing, dispatching, or resource allocation, or in causal-informed decision support such as causal analysis, Double ML, or intervention-aware modeling is a plus.
• You have experience in the productive use of machine learning systems and are familiar with software engineering and MLOps practices such as APIs, containers, CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and versioning.
• Initial experience with industrial or production-related deployments, e.g., edge or on-prem environments, PLC, SCADA, or MES integration, or working under network, security, or latency requirements is advantageous.
• You are a strong communicator with very good German skills (at least B2 level) and excellent English skills (C1 level or higher).
• You enjoy occasional business trips to customers on-site in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
