Senior Machine Learning/AI Engineer

We are #hiring for a leading NGO. Lead the design and implementation of AI‑powered systems that enhance knowledge discovery, document understanding, and search relevance across the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with an external AI vendor to implement a secure Knowledge Management System (KMS) integrating internal documents, emails, and data sources.
• Build and fine‑tune AI/ML models for semantic search, summarisation, entity extraction, and text classification.
• Develop and maintain APIs and services to integrate AI capabilities into existing organisational workflows.
• Collaborate with program, research, and technology teams to identify and prioritise high‑impact AI use cases.
• Establish guidelines for responsible AI usage, including transparency, data privacy, and governance.
• Document processes, train teams, and build internal capacity for sustainable AI adoption.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in AI/ML engineering, applied AI, or data science, including experience leading technical initiatives.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit‑learn, and HuggingFace.
• Hands‑on experience building semantic search, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), or document intelligence systems.
• Experience with vector databases such as FAISS, Pinecone, or Weaviate.
• Familiarity with LLM orchestration tools such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Experience with API development, containerisation, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong understanding of data governance, privacy, and responsible AI principles.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
