Capital One

East Highland Park · On-site Full-time Senior $201k – $229k/yr 2d ago

About the role

About

Capital One is a high‑tech company, a scientific laboratory, and a nationally recognized brand reaching tens of millions of consumers. We are a passionate and entrepreneurial team embracing bold ideas, fostering collaboration, and delivering great experiences for our customers. Developer Experience (DevX) is at the heart of our approach, delivering enterprise capabilities and a common developer experience that enables Capital One to thrive in the cloud.

As a Product Manager on the Developer Experience (DevX) product team, you will design and deliver best‑in‑class managed developer tools that improve the quality of life of our software delivery teams while maintaining the highest quality and security standards. You will explore new product opportunities, work with stakeholders at every level to identify pain points throughout the software delivery life cycle, and help build an intuitive, reliable, automated, secure, adaptable, and fast software delivery platform.

Responsibilities

  • Engage all stakeholders (Engineers, SDLC, Architecture, Risk, and Cyber) through various channels to serve as the voice of the customer internally—identifying new capabilities, defining product features, and collaborating with development teams to incorporate those features.
  • Interact with engineers and understand technical language to articulate requirements.
  • Drive the product management practice within the organization, defining expectations and commitments.
  • Operationalize product metrics for the products you own and build business cases for new investment.
  • Influence senior stakeholders to adopt our products and communicate the outcomes we enable to strengthen investment.

We want you if you are

  • Human Centered – Lead sourcing and synthesis of customer discovery efforts, turn insights into actionable strategies, define priorities, and rally stakeholders to your vision.
  • Business Focused – Own and prioritize a 12‑18‑month product roadmap, define KPIs, measure and track performance, and adjust the roadmap based on data.
  • Technology Driven – Possess an end‑to‑end understanding of your product’s place in the larger ecosystem, anticipate impacts of changes, and work closely with tech leadership and architecture to make informed trade‑offs.
  • Integrated Problem Solver – Develop and champion a bold vision, build frameworks for complex decision‑making, and accelerate getting to the right answer.
  • Transformational Leader – Rally teams and senior stakeholders to your product vision, leverage relationships across the ecosystem, attract and retain top talent, and mentor associates in their product careers.

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience working in Product Management.
  • Either:
    • A Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, or related), or
    • A Master’s Degree in a quantitative field or an MBA with a quantitative concentration (expected to be obtained before the start date).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer‑facing digital products.
  • 2+ years of software development experience or building developer tools.

Benefits

Capital One offers a comprehensive, competitive, and inclusive set of health, financial, and other benefits that support your total well‑being.
