Brief Job Overview

The Senior Marketing Director, Generic Medicine Manufacturers will lead the growth strategy for USP standards, products, and solutions supporting the USP 2030 strategy. This key marketing leadership role within the Program, Region Operations and Strategy (PROpS) division manages a $180M revenue portfolio serving customers across the generic medicines industry. The role co-leads the Program Unit Team with Science to shape priorities, go-to-market strategies, marketing plans, and stakeholder engagement. The incumbent uses market insights, customer feedback, and performance data to identify trends and develop growth strategies. Collaboration with Science, Product Management, Digital Marketing, Global External Affairs, USP Education, and others ensures effective portfolio execution.

Responsibilities

  • Define long-term vision and growth strategy for USP standards and solutions addressing the Generics Medicines Manufacturing Industry.
  • Develop Annual Plans, Marketing Plans, and Go-To-Market strategies to drive awareness, adoption, and usage.
  • Co-Lead Program Units teams to align strategies, plans, and budgets across cross-functional teams.
  • Collect data, insights, and conduct market research to inform marketing decisions.
  • Understand pharma regulatory landscape impacting industry, USP standards, and customers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support products across all touchpoints.
  • Monitor and analyze market, industry, and customer data to optimize portfolio performance.
  • Present quarterly business reviews and performance metrics to leadership.
  • Monitor market, competitive, and customer trends to identify growth opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, laws, and internal policies.
  • Deliver presentations and reports to stakeholders and leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Life Sciences or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in marketing, brand management in biopharma, life science, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience leading and supervising direct reports and cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional product, process, and project management skills.
  • Strong business acumen and data analytics skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

Additional Desired Preferences

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration.
  • Deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Advanced degree in pharmacy, life sciences or related field.
  • Experience with MS Office, Salesforce, Tableau, Copilot, Adobe.
  • B2B and B2C experience.

Compensation

  • Base Salary Range: USD $202,000 – 262,150 annually.
  • Target Annual Bonus: Varies based on role level.
