Role Details

• Position: FTE: Network Engineer (with Programming) – Data & AI Systems
• Type: Contract
• Compensation: $50–$70/hour
• Location: San Francisco, CA (primarily in-person)
• Commitment: Full-time

Role Responsibilities

• Review real-world data from deployed networks, including logs, configurations, telemetry, and event streams.
• Label, classify, and analyze network behaviors, issues, and anomalies to enhance AI system understanding.
• Write scripts and tools to process, clean, and transform network data using Python and Bash.
• Define schemas and structure for large-scale data pipelines to support machine learning operations.
• Collaborate closely with the client team to improve data quality and usability for ML systems.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• Experience as a network engineer with enterprise networks (switches, APs, firewalls, etc.).
• Programming or scripting experience (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Comfort with interpreting logs, events, and time-series metrics.

Preferred

• Experience automating workflows or working with data pipelines.
• Curiosity about how raw infrastructure data becomes machine learning input.
