As a Senior Project Manager / Program Manager (m/f/d), you will take on a central role in demanding software development and transformation projects in the retail environment. You will be responsible for the planning, steering, and coordination of complex project and program structures, working closely with delivery teams, business units, international stakeholders, and external partners.

Your future duties and responsibilities
In your role as Senior Project Manager / Program Manager (m/f/d), you will be responsible for the planning, steering, and implementation of complex software development and transformation projects in the retail environment.
Your tasks include in particular:
- Overall responsibility for planning, coordination, and implementation of complex software development projects and transformation initiatives
- Steering of project and program structures, considering time, budget, quality, risks, and dependencies
- Close collaboration with interdisciplinary delivery teams, business units, international stakeholders, and external partners
- Alignment of business and technical requirements, and ensuring targeted implementation
- Steering project progress across multiple workstreams and ensuring transparent communication at all levels
- Identification, tracking, and escalation of risks, issues, and dependencies at project and program level
- Monitoring of milestones, KPIs, and relevant project metrics
- Preparation and moderation of governance meetings, and creation of status reports and decision-making bases
- Ensuring structured project documentation and professional stakeholder reporting
- Support in the successful implementation of transformation initiatives in a dynamic retail environment
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
You bring sound experience in project and program management, as well as the ability to steer complex software development and transformation projects in a structured and goal-oriented manner.
- Several years of experience in IT project or program management in complex project environments
- Experience in managing software development projects or large-scale transformation programs
- Industry knowledge in the retail sector and understanding of the specific requirements of retail
- Sound understanding of modern delivery models and agile working methods
- Experience in collaborating with various stakeholders and in multi-vendor environments
- Very good communication, coordination, and escalation skills
- Experience in preparing and moderating governance and steering committees
- Structured way of working, as well as strong organizational and steering competence
- Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
Ideally, you also bring the following experience:
- Experience in international project or program environments
- Knowledge in the area of retail platforms, omnichannel processes, or store-specific system landscapes
- Experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g., GCP) and microservice architectures
- Experience in the area of PMO structures or large transformation programs
- Knowledge of POS systems or payment solutions is an advantage, but not a prerequisite
