Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of commercial construction projects from initiation to completion.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation.
- Oversee and coordinate the work of architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal site staff.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and implement robust site safety plans.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks or delays, and implement proactive solutions.
- Manage project budgets, track costs, and implement cost-control measures.
- Negotiate contracts with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality of workmanship and compliance with specifications.
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, providing regular progress updates.
- Manage project closeout activities, including final inspections, documentation, and handover.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, permits, and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor and guide junior project managers and site staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in commercial construction project management.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale commercial construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, and regulations.
- Excellent understanding of project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and contract negotiation.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Experience in conflict resolution and risk management.
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMP) are a plus.
