Senior Project Manager – IT Infrastructure & Data Center Projects

Position Overview

The role is responsible for managing complex IT infrastructure and platform-related projects within enterprise environments, with a strong focus on data center projects, infrastructure transformations, migration activities, communication technologies, cloud-related initiatives, and application platforms. The position ensures the successful delivery of projects from setup to completion while maintaining compliance with organizational standards, timelines, budgets, and quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage IT infrastructure and platform projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from project setup to final delivery
• Ensure achievement of project goals related to timelines, costs, quality, and operational requirements
• Create, maintain, and continuously update project plans, status reports, and project overviews
• Independently coordinate and manage work packages and project activities
• Coordinate effort estimations, technical service descriptions, and project-related analyses
• Prepare decision-making materials and management presentations
• Act as the central point of contact for customers, operations teams, suppliers, service providers, and field service organizations
• Manage stakeholder expectations and coordinate communication across all involved parties
• Organize and facilitate internal and external workshops, coordination meetings, and project sessions
• Identify project dependencies, risks, and operational impacts
• Manage project risks, changes, and escalation topics through structured change management processes
• Monitor project budgets, project controlling activities, and resource utilization
• Conduct lessons learned sessions and contribute to continuous improvement of workflows and operational processes
• Support projects involving data center expansion, migration, consolidation, cloud transformation, and infrastructure modernization initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field; alternatively, completed commercial or IT vocational training combined with relevant professional experience
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in managing IT projects
• Proven experience in IT infrastructure, communication technology, data center, migration, or comparable technical projects
• Knowledge of common project management methodologies and standards such as IPMA or equivalent frameworks
• ITIL Foundation certification or proven practical experience in IT service management
• Experience with project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, MS Project, and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to structure and communicate complex topics clearly to different stakeholder groups
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and workshop moderation skills
• Independent, service-oriented, and solution-focused working style
• Strong conflict management and decision-making abilities
• Professional German language skills (C1) and good English skills (B1)
• Willingness to travel regularly within project activities
• Willingness to undergo a security/background screening process
