Senior Project Manager – IT Infrastructure & Platform Projects

Position Overview

The role focuses on the management and delivery of complex IT infrastructure and platform-related projects within enterprise environments, particularly in the areas of mobility solutions, security-related IT systems, communication technologies, and operational IT platforms. The position is responsible for ensuring successful project execution from project setup through final delivery while maintaining compliance with organizational standards, schedules, budgets, and quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Delivery

• Manage IT infrastructure and platform projects throughout the full project lifecycle
• Ensure achievement of project objectives related to timelines, budget, quality, and operational performance
• Create, maintain, and continuously update project plans, project structures, and reporting overviews
• Ensure compliance with internal project governance and implementation standards

Operational Coordination

• Independently coordinate and manage work packages and project activities
• Prepare effort estimations, service descriptions, and project-related analyses
• Create management reports, decision-making materials, and project documentation
• Support implementation planning and operational execution activities

Stakeholder & Communication Management

• Act as the central interface between customers, operations teams, suppliers, service providers, and field service organizations
• Manage stakeholder expectations and coordinate communication across all involved parties
• Organize and facilitate internal and external workshops, coordination meetings, and project sessions
• Maintain transparent reporting and communication structures

Risk, Change & Quality Management

• Identify project dependencies and operational risks
• Manage project risks, escalations, and change management processes
• Monitor project costs and ensure budget compliance
• Conduct lessons learned sessions and contribute to continuous process improvements
• Support service-oriented and quality-driven project execution

Resource & Process Management

• Coordinate resource planning and workload distribution
• Contribute to process optimization and operational efficiency initiatives
• Support structured collaboration within cross-functional and interdisciplinary project teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field; alternatively, completed commercial or IT vocational training combined with relevant professional experience
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in IT project management
• Proven experience in infrastructure projects, communication technologies, migration projects, or comparable technical environments
• Knowledge of common project management methodologies such as IPMA or equivalent standards
• Practical experience with IT service management frameworks such as ITIL
• Experience with project management tools such as Jira, MS Project, and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to independently coordinate multiple stakeholders and complex project structures
• Excellent communication, moderation, and presentation skills
• Strong conflict management and service-oriented mindset
• Professional German language skills (C1) and good English language skills (B1)
• Willingness to travel regularly within project activities
• Willingness to undergo security clearance procedures
• Ability to work in hybrid project environments with regular on-site presence in the Bonn/Meckenheim region
