About

I am looking for a Senior Software Engineer Python to join a strategic program within a major player in quantitative finance, focused on the valuation of massive financial data (tick data L3).

In this highly demanding context, the objective is to make ultra-large datasets usable for researchers by building distributed feature engineering solutions while maintaining a simple user experience similar to pandas.

What you'll do

• Translate Python/pandas workflows into distributed processing (Spark, Ray?)
• Optimize processing on massive data volumes (performance, scalability)
• Design simple abstractions for data scientists (researcher-oriented UX)
• Participate in architectural choices (Spark / Ray / Iceberg?)
• Work on complex datasets (time series data, dependencies, imbalances)
• Collaborate closely with ML Platform teams and quantitative researchers
• Contribute to a scalable and industrialized data platform on AWS

Stack & environment

• Python (expert) / Pandas / NumPy / Spark / Ray / AWS (S3, EMR, SageMaker) / Iceberg / Data Lake / Feature Engineering / HPC (bonus) / Kubernetes (EKS under consideration)

Profile

What we're looking for:

• Confirmed Senior (significant experience in Python + large-scale data): MINIMUM 8 years of experience?
• Very strong in Python performance optimization
• Experience in distributed data processing (Spark, Ray, Dask?)
• Comfortable with complex environments and massive volumes
• Ability to simplify technical systems for end-users (data scientists)
• Clear communication, pragmatic mindset, no "technical bluff"
• Fluent English essential
