Senior Security Ops Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities

• Leading the design, implementation, and management of complex and scalable AWS security solutions for enterprise clients.
• Providing expert-level guidance and consulting to clients on AWS security, best practices, and industry standards.
• Conducting in-depth assessments of client environments to identify security weaknesses, and recommend remediations.
• Leading troubleshooting efforts for critical and complex incidents, providing advanced technical expertise and resolution.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver training programs, workshops, and knowledge sharing sessions to enhance team capabilities.
• Specializing in a particular domain and being able to provide guidance relating to that domain across company and to our clients.
• Extensive experience in designing and implementing complex security architectures, including integration of non-cloud-native security services.
• Expert-level knowledge of AWS services, with a deep understanding of their capabilities, limitations, interoperability and best practices.
• Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code frameworks such as Terraform.
• Deep understanding of AWS security practices and compliance frameworks, such as GDPR, CIS, NIST, PCI.
• Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to guide and coach junior and intermediate team members.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities, including the ability to handle critical incidents and provide timely resolutions.
• Troubleshooting issues and providing support for AWS services related to the services identified. - Customer Meetings (Reporting, Consulting)
• Handle Incident Escalations
• Handle Technical Escalations
• SIEM management and platform development
• Vulnerability Management, eg: Tenable/Nessus
• Third-party security services, eg: Cloudflare.
• Updating/Deploying remote security monitoring code for cloud environment according to security principles.
• Configure wide range of security tools across multiple cloud environments
• Updating security processes and knowledge-base documentation
• Customer Service Requests
• Internal Service Requests
• Updating/Deploying remote security monitoring code
• Threat Hunting
• Create training documentation and train colleagues where required.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Five or more years of experience in a similar role
• BSc. in Computer Science, Engineering or related diplomas.
• AWS Certifications (eg: Security Specialty & Solutions Architect Professional)
• Some development language and some experience in developing software
• Familiar with the software lifecycle process
