Roles & Responsibilities

  • Administration and management of Solidworks PDM across Opco's of Dover ensuring proper version control & compliance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues of Solidworks and PDM users ensuring quick resolution and minimal downtime.
  • Manage the Licensing, PDM and Database servers for optimum performance, uptime and resource utilization
  • Implementation of Solidworks PDM from scratch for Opco's and contribute in configuring and customizing existing setup of PDM, if needed.
  • Plan/Participate in the annual major version upgrade of Solidworks PDM.
  • Project Management Configuration: Define and manage project stages, milestones, and Gantt chart templates. This includes setting up resource utilization tracking so managers can see team capacity in real‑time.
  • Advanced Process Automation: Build complex business workflows for New Product Introduction (NPI), Engineering Change Requests (ECR), and transmittals.
  • Item & BOM Management: Configure the system to handle non‑file‑based records (e.g., grease, packaging, or labor). Admins manage the rules for creating, editing, and comparing different Bill of Materials (BOM) variants, such as Engineering BOMs (eBOM) vs. Manufacturing BOMs (mBOM).
  • Dashboard & Report Design: Create interactive graphical dashboards for executives and project managers using widgets, dials, and charts to visualize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • System Integration: Maintain the bi‑directional link between SOLIDWORKS Manage and SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional. This includes mapping variables and ensuring data flows correctly between CAD files and PLM records.
  • User Task & Time Tracking: Set up Timesheets and user‑specific “To‑Do” lists, enabling the system to automatically calculate project progress based on reported hours.
  • Resolve technical issues related to Solidworks Manage and participate in annual upgrade of Solidworks Manage
