Your Responsibilities

• As a Senior Software Engineer DevOps (m/f/d), you will develop, expand, and operate software solutions in the cloud or on-premise.
• You will work with other experienced software engineers and architects and support colleagues in their further development.
• You will take up requirements in direct contact with our customers in a structured manner and provide the appropriate technical concepts for the setup and operation of the application.
• Using DevOps techniques and paradigms such as ITSM or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), you will create and continuously improve sustainable, highly automated, easily maintainable, and expandable analytical applications and platforms.
• A good mix of medium and long-term projects and short proof-of-concept assignments makes your tasks diverse.

Depending on your interests, HMS offers various development paths: You can develop into a Software Architect, Technical Lead, or Project Manager.

Your Qualifications

• Good university degree in computer science, mathematics, or physics, or similar fields.
• Several years of experience in software or data engineering or systems development.
• Expertise in at least one well-known programming language (e.g., Python, C#, .NET, Go, R, SAS) and experience with standard databases (Oracle, SQL-Server, PostgreSQL, etc.).
• High standards for software quality and experience in using proven software engineering techniques and DevOps lifecycle techniques.
• Practical experience with automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, ArgoCD) and with monitoring and observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Opentelemetry, Honeycomb).
• Ability to identify, analyze problems, and develop the best solutions.
• High team spirit and good communication with different stakeholders in German and English (spoken and written).

Advantageous:

• Good knowledge of a scripting language or in the cloud environment (e.g., Azure or AWS).
