Senior Software Engineer, Technical Infrastructure, Google Ads

Role Overview

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. As a software engineer at Google, you will work on specific projects critical to Googles needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business grows and evolves. The role requires versatility, leadership qualities, and enthusiasm to solve new problems across the full-stack. You will drive, build, and support product evolution, ensuring regulatory compliance, resource efficiencies, and cross-team collaborations. There will be ample opportunities to mentor junior engineers and grow expertise in Google technologies while being at the forefront of key Ads systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and separately develop and deliver large Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and mentor team members.
• Manage the execution of projects and establish governance within programs critical to Conversion Infrastructure.
• Communicate with all levels of cross-functional teams, including Engineering, UX, Product, Operations, Legal, Sales, and executive leadership, regarding execution updates, resource requirements, issues, risks, and priorities.
• Work directly with engineers, product managers, and other program managers to prepare project plans, identify and manage cross-project dependencies, ambiguities, risks, and effectively act on them.
• Build collaboration and partnership with external teams critical for achieving the annual OKRs and delivering the product roadmap.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
