The Senior Storage Solutions Engineer plays a critical role in providing expert technical leadership for enterprise storage platforms that support crucial databases, virtual infrastructures, and other essential workloads across data centers and cloud environments. In this role, you will design and implement scalable SAN, NAS, and object storage solutions while ensuring optimal performance, resiliency, and data protection that align with organizational objectives. You will lead advanced storage migrations and optimizations, working closely with server, virtualization, and backup teams to achieve seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and oversee large-scale SAN and NAS infrastructures, focusing on zoning, LUN provisioning, and multipathing to ensure high availability for critical workloads.
  • Conduct comprehensive capacity planning, performance analysis, and implement storage tiering strategies that effectively balance cost, latency, and resiliency.
  • Integrate storage platforms with virtualization, backup, and replication technologies to facilitate disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Lead complex migrations, technology refreshing, and architecture redesign efforts, utilizing detailed runbooks, validation processes, and rollback options.
  • Establish and uphold storage security protocols, including encryption, access controls, and data retention practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Mentor junior storage engineers, contribute to the development of storage standards and reference architectures, and serve as a high-level escalation point for significant storage incidents.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in storage engineering or IT infrastructure roles.
  • Strong proficiency in SAN, NAS, and relevant tools (e.g., NetApp, EMC, cloud storage platforms).
  • Proven experience in root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and disaster recovery strategies for storage environments.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, analytical skills, communication, and organizational capabilities.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant storage certifications (e.g., NCDA, EMC Proven Professional).
  • Experience in highly regulated federal IT environments and with hybrid or cloud-integrated storage architectures.
