About the Role

Ekimetrics is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager capable of embodying technical excellence, innovation, and strategic vision. This role is at the heart of our offering for developing tailor-made solutions for our clients and aims to ensure technical quality and reliability, as well as consistency in architecture and technological choices. You will act as a technical referent, the right-hand person to the head of custom data and AI solution development for our clients, and as an aspirational figure for the teams. You are recognized for your ability to navigate the entire data & AI value chain, from full stack to the industrialization of advanced models.

Main Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Vision

  • Co-build with the executives (C-level) of the companies we support their Data & AI vision.
  • Translate this vision into technological roadmaps, target architectures, and implementation strategies.
  • Ensure alignment between business challenges, technical constraints, and measurable value creation.

Technical Expertise & Architecture Guardian

  • Be the technical referent on projects: stack choices, architecture design, best practices, scalability, security.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of tailor-made solutions: data pipelines, cloud platforms, AI models, APIs, middleware, MLOps.
  • Ensure technical consistency of projects: version upgrades, maintenance, performance, operational robustness.
  • Work on end-to-end projects, including data engineering, AI, deployment, monitoring and adoption, as well as web development.

End-to-End Solution Management

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, and deploy Data & AI solutions from A to Z.
  • Master cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) and modern platforms (Databricks, Snowflake).
  • Ensure the technical quality, performance, and reliability of delivered solutions.

Innovation, Watch & Market Connection

  • Stay at the forefront of the latest technological advancements: new algorithms, frameworks, architectures, AI/ML tools, Databricks/Snowflake innovations...
  • Develop a clear vision of market trends and best practices.
  • Inspire teams and clients through a recognized expert posture connected to the ecosystem.

Structuring & Team Leadership

  • Contribute to structuring the custom build function to take it to a new level.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the internal Head of Custom Build, as a technical right-hand.
  • Manage, coach, and develop teams of data engineers, ML engineers, developers, and data scientists.
  • Instill a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and impeccable delivery.

Profile Sought

  • 8–12 years of experience in data/AI, including a role as Head of Data & AI, Forward Deployed Engineer, or equivalent.
  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated experience on complex AI projects, from design to production.
  • Mastery of data, middleware, and AI stacks, as well as modern cloud architectures.
  • Strong technological curiosity and ability to anticipate trends.
  • Ability to propose innovative and pragmatic approaches.
  • Comfortable with executives and ability to translate business challenges into data/AI solutions.
  • Aspirational, dynamic profile, capable of embodying Ekimetrics' modernity and technological ambition.
