Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Senior Documentation Technical Writer with a strong background in industrial operations and maintenance. This role is responsible for creating, updating, and managing high‑quality Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manuals and related technical documentation for industrial systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience working in industrial environments such as oil & gas, utilities, or manufacturing, and will be comfortable collaborating with engineers, field technicians, and subject‑matter experts to gather and translate complex technical information into clear, user‑friendly documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain O&M manuals, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to gather accurate technical data.
  • Ensure documentation complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, CSA, ISO).
  • Interpret and incorporate technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs into documentation.
  • Conduct field visits and inspections to collect firsthand information when needed.
  • Use document management systems (e.g., SharePoint) and authoring tools (e.g., MS Word, Adobe FrameMaker).
  • Support continuous improvement of documentation processes and templates.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in technical writing, with a focus on industrial operations and maintenance.
  • Proven experience developing O&M manuals and working with maintenance teams.
  • Strong understanding of industrial equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, valves, instrumentation).
  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms (e.g., SAP, Maximo, Infor EAM).
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple documentation projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in oil & gas, utilities, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance standards (OSHA, CSA, ISO).
  • Experience with structured authoring and content management systems.
  • Field experience conducting site visits or equipment inspections.
