About the role

Job Overview:

We are building a modern data platform centered on Snowflake and are seeking a Snowflake expert to design, build, and operationalize Snowflake-native solutions. This role combines data architecture, platform engineering, and advanced Snowflake development.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Snowflake-based architectures (data vault, star schema, etc.)
  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowpipe, Snowpark, Streams & Tasks, and tools like dbt, Fivetran, Matillion, etc.
  • Develop Snowflake-native utilities and applications (UDFs, external functions, Snowpark for Python)
  • Optimize performance and cost using clustering, partitioning, and warehouse tuning
  • Implement governance, security, and access control (RBAC, masking, tagging, lineage, audit logs)
  • Automate infrastructure and deployments using CI/CD and IaC
  • Build monitoring, alerting, and cost tracking systems
  • Mentor team members and contribute to platform roadmap

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong hands-on Snowflake experience in production environments
  • Deep expertise in Snowflake features: Snowpark, Snowpipe, Streams & Tasks, Time Travel, cloning, etc.
  • ETL/ELT development using dbt, SQL, and ingestion tools (Fivetran, Airbyte, etc.)
  • Strong Python and SQL optimization skills
  • Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
  • Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Knowledge of data modeling, medallion architecture, and governance
  • Experience implementing CI/CD and automated testing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Snowflake SnowPro certification
  • Experience with dbt (Core or Cloud)
  • Familiarity with data cataloging, lineage tools, or virtualization
  • Experience with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
  • Experience building internal tools or Snowflake-based applications
