Software Engineer, Infrastructure Security

As a Software Engineer, Infrastructure Security at Nucleus, you will help secure the cloud and on-prem systems that power our research, training, and production workloads. You’ll work across fleet security, deployment hardening, identity boundaries, runtime protections, and security controls that make large-scale infrastructure safer by default. This role is ideal for engineers who like working close to platforms and care deeply about operational security.

In this role, you will • Harden cloud and on-prem environments that support model training, inference, and internal platforms. • Build security controls into deployment pipelines, infrastructure provisioning, and service runtime environments. • Improve host, container, and workload security across Nucleus systems. • Partner with platform teams to reduce attack surface and strengthen secure-by-default infrastructure patterns. • Develop tooling and automation for security policy enforcement, posture management, and remediation. You may be a good fit if you have • Experience in infrastructure engineering, security engineering, SRE, or platform engineering. • Strong familiarity with cloud security, Linux systems, containerization, IAM, and deployment pipelines. • Experience implementing preventative controls and secure infrastructure patterns at scale. • A builder mindset and a pragmatic approach to balancing security with developer velocity.
