Job Description

Inside HPE Networking organization, the OSS Assurance Technology Practice is a team of consultants delivering technical projects worldwide on OSS Assurance products (Fault and Performance for Telecom Networks Management).

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Solution Architect, familiar with network fault management, alarms and events correlation, data visualization, or network performance management. Experience in delivering telecom projects in a similar role is required. Experience or understanding of HPE Assurance products such as vTeMIP, UCA, Fault Management UI or trouble ticketing integration (UTTL) is needed, and we expect rapid ramp‑up on the new Automated Assurance products.

Our team supports/accelerates the Cloud/SaaS transformation; new Cloud technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift will be used in these solutions/architectures and services.

This is a U.S.‑based teleworking position. U.S. citizenship is required. Travel for on‑site customer meetings and deployment is required.


Responsibilities

In a typical day as Senior Technical Consultant in OSS Assurance Technology Practice, you would:

  • Be responsible for implementing part or all of the technical solution to the client, based on HPE OSS Assurance products and in accordance with an agreed technical design. Capable of hands‑on delivery based on project specificities. Provides technical consultation and support for the Delivery Engineers.
  • High Level Design creation for the delivered solution.
  • Deployment and configuration of HPE OSS Assurance products into the customer environment.
  • Definition of correlation and automation rules for problem detection, service impact analysis, and automatic remediation.
  • Customization of user interfaces to fit customer needs.
  • Integration of the HPE OSS Assurance products within the customer’s existing ecosystem (trouble ticketing system, inventory, network equipment).
  • Application of AI/ML, Gen AI‑based capabilities to accelerate identification and resolution of problems.
  • Work with the delivery technical team to provide a detailed technical design (LLD) for OSS Assurance solutions based on customer requirements and high‑level design.
  • Work under the direction of the Project/Technical Manager and with customer‑nominated representatives.
  • Liaise with project Solution Architect, Assurance Product Management, or R&D as appropriate.
  • Provide technical support and input on the OSS Assurance products and solutions.
  • Advise on solution and integration opportunities for OSS Assurance products and solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership on specific integration activities that are part of HPE OSS Assurance solution.
  • Communicate across the client community and be viewed as adding value.

Education and Experience Required

  • 10+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area; without a degree, 3 additional years of relevant professional experience (13+ years total).
  • Must have served as a Senior technology consultant or solution architect for telecom projects with experience in creating design and implementation, leading technical teams, customer technical management, and end‑to‑end technical solution understanding.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Expertise in working on Linux environment.
  • Development skills and ability to understand, troubleshoot, and define solutions using languages such as Java, Python, Scala, XML, YAML, Groovy, scripting.
  • Knowledge of databases (Cloudera, Oracle, PostgreSQL, CouchDB, etc.).
  • Hands‑on experience with Linux OS.
  • Advanced level of business, technical, or functional knowledge related to OSS Assurance domain: fault management, performance management, correlation.
  • Experience in product deployment, integration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to conduct/lead oral status/technical interchange meetings with clients on small to medium‑sized engagements.
  • Understanding of the Telco domain.
  • Innovative and intrepid mindset; capable of great autonomy as well as teamwork.
  • Ability to work in multi‑country, remote teams.
  • Good written and oral communication; fluent in English.

Preferred

  • Technical knowledge of concepts and technologies involved in OSS Assurance solutions, ideally experience with HPE Assurance products (vTeMIP, UCA, UOC, Intelligent Assurance) or other monitoring tools like IBM Netcool.
  • Understanding or experience of container/cloud technologies: AWS, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Understanding or experience in Kafka, Telegraph, Grafana.
  • Understanding or experience of data analytics, AI/ML languages & technologies, adoption of GenAI tools.
  • Understanding or experience with automation tools (CI/CD, Git, Robot Framework, Jenkins, Selenium).

Salary

  • United States of America: Annual Salary USD 105,500 – 243,000 (District of Columbia, Maryland, Texas, Virginia).
  • The listed salary range reflects base salary; variable incentives may also be offered.
