Job Summary

We are seeking a Solutions Architect - Platforms who will serve as a technical advisor with expertise in platform architecture. This role requires a consultative approach to modern application platforms, automation, and container engineering. You will be responsible for developing innovative offerings to meet customer needs. This role can operate remotely but may require in-person attendance at our Austin, Texas office as determined by management.

Role Responsibilities

  • Partner with various stakeholders within client organizations, such as CIOs, CTOs, and developer teams to enhance customer relations and understand their objectives.
  • Lead technical discussions during the presales process and manage the technical strategy and execution throughout the sales cycle.
  • Design and sell platform and hybrid cloud solutions across both on-premises and hybrid frameworks, utilizing OEM and third-party technologies aligned to customer goals.
  • Gain a deep understanding of our service offerings by pursuing company training and self-directed learning.
  • Educate sales teams on containerization, automation, platform architecture, and hybrid cloud solutions through personalized and group training sessions.
  • Stay updated on emerging technology, industry trends, and market behavior through research and study.
  • Engage in self-study and independent work within lab facilities to bolster job-related knowledge and skills.
  • Create collateral, workshops, and resources to support sales engagements.
  • Develop use cases in the SHI lab to assist with sales initiatives.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Proven track record in designing and architecting cloud-native platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.) in on-premises, hybrid, or multi-cloud environments.
  • Strong grasp of modern DevOps and platform engineering practices, including CI/CD and DevSecOps.
  • Thorough understanding of hybrid cloud, DevOps, and relevant third-party technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native observability practices and AIOps.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficient in documentation, system and application architectures, and executive presentations.
  • A genuine passion for technology and problem-solving.

Additional Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role, with at least 3 years in a presales Solutions Architect capacity.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% for client meetings, internal engagements, and conferences.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed for special projects.

Preferred Certifications

  • Certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), or other relevant CNCF certifications.
  • Red Hat Certified OpenShift Architect.
  • Professional certifications in related technologies including observability tools, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code.
    Note: If you do not possess these certifications, obtaining them may be required within one year of joining SHI.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $180,000 – $250,000, including base salary and bonuses. Compensation will vary based on individual knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. Benefits include medical, vision, dental insurance, 401(k) plans, and flexible spending options.
