Role Summary

• Develop and enhance products like Kubermatic Developer Platform.
• Work with Go, Kubernetes, Prometheus to build high-availability services.
• Contribute to open-source projects under CNCF umbrella.
• Develop well-tested, performant, secure code.
• Implement CI/CD automation.
• Collaborate with Product Management and UX.
• Contribute to roadmap discussions and advocate technical improvements.
• Experience in Kubernetes controllers and API internals essential.
• Strong communication skills and pragmatic mindset required.

What will you be doing?

• Work with Go, Kubernetes, Prometheus to build Kubermatic Developer Platform.
• Contribute to and maintain upstream projects under kcp (CNCF Sandbox project).
• Create E2E tests and automate CI/CD workflows.
• Build infrastructure for high-availability services.
• Design and implement new services and features.
• Participate in roadmap and feature discussions.
• Develop secure, well-tested, performant features.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering stakeholders.
• Advocate for product improvements.
• Solve technical problems of moderate scope.
• Maintain coding standards and best practices.
• Address technical debt and propose solutions.
• Represent Kubermatic in public communications.
• Deliver small features independently; collaborate on larger projects.

What should you bring with you?

• Proficiency in Go.
• Comfortable with distributed systems, container technologies, Kubernetes, cloud native stack.
• Experience in Kubernetes controllers and operators development.
• In-depth understanding of Kubernetes API machinery and core controllers.
• Pragmatic and result-oriented team player.
• Strong communication skills for complex technical problems.
• Strong coding skills for clean, maintainable, efficient cloud native code.
