Job Description
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior ETL / Healthcare Data Engineer to build and support scalable data integration solutions for US healthcare data. This role will focus on processing, transforming, and integrating complex clinical and operational datasets while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and performance.
The ideal candidate combines deep ETL expertise using C#, SQL Server, and Snowflake with a working understanding of healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, CCD, and FHIR. Exposure to cloud platforms, Python, and emerging AI-driven healthcare analytics is a strong plus.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade ETL pipelines for US healthcare data
- Process and transform healthcare data formats including HL7, CCD, FHIR, and related standards
- Implement ETL workflows using C#, SQL Server, and Snowflake
- Build and optimize healthcare-focused data models supporting analytics, reporting, and downstream systems
- Ensure data quality, validation, normalization, and consistency across clinical and administrative datasets
- Collaborate with product, clinical, analytics, and compliance teams to translate healthcare requirements into technical solutions
- Optimize SQL and Snowflake workloads for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
- Support cloud-based data platforms using Azure and/or AWS services
- Leverage Python for data transformation, automation, and orchestration as needed
- Adhere to HIPAA and healthcare data governance best practices
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers on ETL and healthcare data standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including modernization and AI-ready data pipelines
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in ETL development and data engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with C#
- Advanced expertise in SQL Server (T-SQL, performance tuning, stored procedures)
- Solid experience with Snowflake in production environments
- Strong understanding of data warehousing and ETL best practices
- Experience working with US healthcare data
- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, CCD, and FHIR
- Experience with version control, CI/CD, and production support
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Azure (ADF, Synapse, Data Lake) and/or AWS (S3, Glue, Redshift)
- Working knowledge of Python for data engineering tasks
- Exposure to healthcare interoperability tools (interfaces, APIs, message brokers)
- Understanding of AI/ML concepts in healthcare analytics (data preparation, feature engineering)
- Knowledge of healthcare coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, LOINC, SNOMED)
- Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments

- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Detail-oriented mindset essential for regulated healthcare environments
