Senior Product Engineer

Ahead Health

Zürich · On-site Full-time Senior CHF 110k – CHF 125k/yr Today

About the role

About Ahead Health

Healthcare is broken. It's reactive, fragmented, and increasingly expensive. While we have more and growing health data than ever before, we're not using it effectively to prevent disease and optimize wellbeing.

That's why we started Ahead Health. We're building an AI-powered platform that transforms how people understand and manage their health, shifting from reactive treatment to proactive prevention and health optimization. By combining cutting-edge technology with medical expertise, we help people take control of their health journey before problems arise.

The product vision: personal, concierge-grade medical care, for everyone. Three components make this real: (1) a living health record that connects every health data to your full history, (2) comprehensive, clinically governed care (check-ups, imaging, blood panels, GP consultations) delivered directly and coordinated with a curated specialist network, and (3) persistent, AI-powered health intelligence that goes beyond one-off answers to reason continuously across your trajectory.

We're excited to build Europe's leading preventive health platform, starting with Switzerland.

We’re backed by founders and execs from Hugging Face, Cradle, Google, DeepMind, Oviva, Stanford Medicine, GE, Philips, and Coda.

Your Role

Personalized, preventive healthcare has historically been a luxury. AI changes that. We aim to be Europe’s leading prevention platform.

As our Senior Product Engineer, you will shape the next development phase of our digital product and service. You'll own significant parts of the user experience and technical strategy, translating our goals into a product that our users will love and trust. You'll work closely with our CEO, CTO, CPO, designer, engineers, marketing, and medical advisors. You should also be someone who cares deeply about all the little-big details, from system performance to intuitive micro-interactions, that separate a good product from a great one.

We believe agentic software development is not a trend, but the new baseline for how high-performing teams build software. We're looking for an engineer who has already internalized this; someone who loves to ship, thrives in ambiguity, and treats agentic tooling as a craft, not a shortcut. You've learned the hard way how solid software should be built, and agentic tools help you execute on that experience.

Responsibilities

  • Consumer features, fast: own the full lifecycle, from ideation and implementation to iteration. Your agentic workflow means you move at a pace that would normally require a larger team.
  • Build for trust. We handle personal health data. You build modular, secure, and compliant systems that earn and keep user trust.
  • Iterate with data. Use metrics to drive engagement, retention, and acquisition. Define goals, design features, ship with proper instrumentation, measure, learn, repeat.
  • Champion delightful user journey. Closely collaborate with PM+designer and own non-functional requirements like performance and seamless transitions.
  • Collaborate across disciplines. Work with product, design, medical, and marketing to translate goals into solutions users love.

Need to have

  • 5-7+ years of experience shipping digital products and features that move user metrics (engagement, retention, acquisition).
  • Demonstrated fluency with agentic development tools (e.g. Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Cursor).
  • Full-stack experience with modern frontend and backend frameworks. Strong command of web-app fundamentals.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals across the stack, including cloud infrastructure, observability, and CI/CD.
  • Ability to design scalable and modular systems, which allow fast-paced iterative development.
  • A sharp eye for detail in user-facing work. You notice the micro-interactions that separate good from great.
  • Passionate about the health-tech domain, both on functional and non-functional dimensions (e.g. privacy, compliance)
  • You've built something from scratch before; as a founder, early-stage employee, or on a new product line. You know what it takes when there's no playbook.

Great to have

  • Familiarity with growth engineering: user testing frameworks, instrumentation, SEO.
  • Experience with medical imaging or health data pipelines.
  • Direct exposure to health-tech, including privacy and compliance considerations (GDPR, Swiss FADP, ISO 27001).

What we offer

  • Full-time, Zurich-based (relocation assistance negotiable). CHF 110K–125K + significant equity.
  • The opportunity to shape the future of preventive health in Europe.
  • Small, experienced, technical, and mission-led team out of Google, Coolblue, Kaia Health, Oxford.
