Skills
- Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting principles
- Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to support financial decision-making
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Maintain financial integrity: Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy in the general ledger.
- Month-end & year-end close: Assist in closing processes, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Account reconciliation: Manage reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts, including cash, receivables, payables, and fixed assets.
- Financial reporting: Support the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Audit support: Prepare documentation and assist with internal and external audits.
- Fixed assets & depreciation: Track capital expenditures, record depreciation, and manage asset disposals.
- Variance analysis: Identify and analyze discrepancies in financial reports, providing insights for decision-making.
- Process improvement: Contribute to improving financial processes, controls, and efficiency.
- Compliance & regulatory filings: Assist with tax returns, sales tax filings, and other financial reporting requirements.
- Ad hoc projects: Support leadership with special financial projects and analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience
- Experience in a corporate finance environment is a plus
