Skills

• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting principles
• Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to support financial decision-making
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Maintain financial integrity: Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy in the general ledger.
• Month-end & year-end close: Assist in closing processes, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Account reconciliation: Manage reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts, including cash, receivables, payables, and fixed assets.
• Financial reporting: Support the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
• Audit support: Prepare documentation and assist with internal and external audits.
• Fixed assets & depreciation: Track capital expenditures, record depreciation, and manage asset disposals.
• Variance analysis: Identify and analyze discrepancies in financial reports, providing insights for decision-making.
• Process improvement: Contribute to improving financial processes, controls, and efficiency.
• Compliance & regulatory filings: Assist with tax returns, sales tax filings, and other financial reporting requirements.
• Ad hoc projects: Support leadership with special financial projects and analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience in a corporate finance environment is a plus
