The Opportunity

As the Cloud / Grafana-as-a-service business grows, Grafana's core architecture is being changed to be fully multi-tenant and scalable, forming a platform for Cloud apps. The role involves refactoring Grafana to be simpler and standardized, ensuring safe rollout of changes to avoid service disruptions.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Coding new features, enhancing operational experience, and iteratively improving systems based on production insights.
• Authoring, contributing to, and reviewing design documents.
• Taking an active role in shaping the roadmap.
• Mentoring and supporting other team members and collaborating across teams.
• Owning customer experience by participating in weekday 12h x 5d and weekend 24h x 2d on-call rotations.
• Using modern AI coding assistants supported by company-funded budgets for faster prototyping, test generation, refactors, documentation, and incident follow-ups.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Strong coding skills and operational experience; responsible for operating the software you have built.
• Experience with SaaS platforms and distributed systems challenges like scalability, multi-tenancy, data isolation, and high availability.
• Excellent communication skills with clarity in writing and meetings.
• Willingness to work across teams and align work with other squads and stakeholders.
• Pragmatic approach prioritizing progress over perfection and ability to handle ambiguity.
• Familiarity with or eagerness to learn Golang.

Compensation

• UK compensation range: £103,958 - £124,750.
• Includes Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) for ownership in Grafana Labs' success.
• Compensation ranges are country specific.
