Zoox is developing the first ground‑up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting ecosystem required to bring this technology to market. Sitting at the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and design, Zoox aims to provide the next generation of mobility‑as‑a‑service in urban environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage the technical and business relationship between Zoox and its cloud providers.
• Understand and maintain costs associated with Zoox's cloud platforms, ensuring cost efficiency and optimization.
• Implement AWS best practices for security, operations, cost management, resiliency, and performance across Zoox's cloud platforms.
• Establish and lead a cloud center of excellence to drive innovation, efficiency, and best practices in cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to refine and enhance Zoox's hybrid cloud strategy.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of cloud products and services in a production environment (AWS/GCP), including infrastructure, capacity planning, scalability, backups, storage, security best practices, and emerging technologies.
• IaC orchestration and delivery experience (Terraform preferred; CloudFormation also considered).
• Proven automation skills, including AI‑based software development best practices, programming/scripting languages, and Infrastructure as Code patterns.
• Experience building dashboards, alerting systems, and implementing observability frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and implement cost‑optimization practices within AWS ecosystems (total cost of ownership, cloud cost‑optimization tools, cost reporting services).
• Deep understanding of cloud computing strategies and architecture (multi‑cloud, hybrid, multi‑user environments).
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Business Units) to achieve business objectives.
• Expert written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all business levels.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with AWS security best practices and compliance.
• Proven track record of working in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment, with the ability to lead and mentor junior team members.
• Experience designing, deploying, and running containerized services, primarily on EKS.
• Understanding of AI/ML AWS services and best practices.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary range (varies by geographic location, level, experience, and interview performance).
