About the Role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Statistical Analyst to join our data‑driven team in Baltimore. In this role you will design, execute, and interpret statistical analyses that inform business strategy, product development, and policy decisions. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners—including data engineers, product managers, and senior leadership—to turn raw data into actionable insights.


Key Responsibilities

  • Statistical Modeling & Analysis

    • Develop, validate, and maintain predictive and descriptive statistical models (e.g., regression, ANOVA, time‑series, survival analysis).
    • Conduct hypothesis testing, experimental design, and power analysis for research projects.
  • Data Management & Preparation

    • Extract, clean, and transform large datasets from relational databases, APIs, and flat files.
    • Ensure data integrity, reproducibility, and compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Programming & Automation

    • Write efficient, well‑documented code in R and/or Python for data manipulation, analysis, and model deployment.
    • Build reusable scripts and pipelines (e.g., using tidyverse, data.table, pandas, numpy, scikit‑learn).
  • Data Visualization & Reporting

    • Create clear, compelling visualizations (static and interactive) using tools such as ggplot2, Plotly, Shiny, Tableau, or Power BI.
    • Produce concise analytical reports, dashboards, and presentations for technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Research & Methodology

    • Apply rigorous research methods to design surveys, experiments, and observational studies.
    • Stay current with emerging statistical techniques and best practices, recommending improvements to analytical workflows.
  • Collaboration & Communication

    • Partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into analytical plans.
    • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to a culture of data literacy across the organization.

Required Qualifications

Requirement Details
Education Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field. Master’s degree preferred.
Statistical Expertise Proven experience applying statistical analysis, experimental design, and inference to real‑world problems.
Programming Proficiency in R and/or Python (including libraries such as tidyverse, dplyr, pandas, numpy, scikit‑learn).
Data Visualization Ability to craft insightful visualizations using ggplot2, Plotly, Shiny, Tableau, or Power BI.
Research Methods Strong grounding in research design, survey methodology, and data collection best practices.
Reporting Experience producing clear written and oral reports for diverse audiences.
Tools & Platforms Familiarity with SQL, Git version control, and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
Soft Skills Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork abilities; detail‑oriented with a focus on reproducibility.

Preferred (Nice‑to‑Have) Skills

  • Experience with machine learning pipelines (e.g., caret, mlr, tensorflow, pytorch).
  • Knowledge of big‑data technologies (Spark, Hadoop).
  • Prior work in healthcare, finance, or public policy research.
  • Certifications such as Google Data Analytics, SAS, or Microsoft Power BI.
