BCT LLC is seeking a System Engineer (Cloud Architect/Cloud Engineer/Platform Engineering). The ideal candidate must possess an active TS/SCI w/Poly and have experience with Cloud Architecture, Cloud Engineering, and Platform Engineering (especially in AWS). This position is located in or around Annapolis Junction, Maryland. We are currently seeking System Engineers for this task: one SE4 and one SE6. Experience ranges from 8 years to 24 years.

Position Overview

• Cloud Architecture / Cloud Engineer / Platform Engineering (especially in AWS)
• AI/ML system design and implementation
• High‑level understanding of the AI lifecycle (development, training, inference, monitoring)
• Experience with ML pipeline development, model deployment, and DevOps/MLOps
• Experience with Amazon SafeMaker is a plus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a variety of stakeholder groups; ability to proactively engage with these groups to understand requirements and inform system architecture decisions
• System security and networking (particularly the implementation of system security on classified systems)
• Data engineering and data lifecycle management

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high‑level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
• Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities.
• Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.
• Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
• Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
• Develop technical documentation.
• Develop system architecture and system design documentation.
• Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
• Interact with the Government regarding systems engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
• Hold ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.
• Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

Required Education

• Option 1: High School Diploma or GED plus 12 years of general system engineering experience.
• Option 2: Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus 7 years of systems engineering experience.
• Option 3: Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus 5 years of systems engineering experience.
• Option 4: PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus 3 years of systems engineering experience.

Salary Range

• SE4: $173,000 to $247,000
• SE6: $254,000 to $334,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, BCT‑LLC considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
