We are helping a client as they continue to grow. They are seeking a Systems Engineering Manager. The ideal candidate has a strong background in systems engineering, infrastructure, and nimble across different environments, paired with experience building and mentoring high-performing technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of systems engineers supporting enterprise and customer environments
• Own the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of infrastructure systems (on‑prem, cloud, or hybrid)
• Establish and enforce best practices for system availability, performance, security, and scalability
• Partner with leadership, security, and operations teams to align infrastructure strategy with business goals
• Oversee incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage capacity planning, system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management
• Ensure documentation, change management, and compliance standards are met
• Act as a technical escalation point for complex system issues when needed

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure, or platform engineering
• 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership or management role
• Strong experience with Windows and/or Linux environments
• Expertise in virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, firewalls, load balancing)
• Experience supporting production, customer-facing systems with high availability requirements
