Systems Engineer II

Job Purpose

We are seeking a hands-on Systems Engineer II to join a high-performing operations team responsible for managing the F5 (Application Delivery Management) platform. This role supports critical enterprise infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of application traffic across the bank.

The successful candidate will play a key role in production support, platform management, and incident resolution, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and engaging stakeholders at various levels.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor platform performance and conduct health checks
• Support incidents, troubleshoot issues, and drive resolutions
• Participate in deployments and change activities
• Configure and maintain F5 solutions and scripts
• Provide input into root cause analysis and improvements
• Engage stakeholders during incidents and operations
• Participate in a 24/7 standby rotation

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

• Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Minimum Experience Level

• 5+ years’ IT experience.
• Proven hands-on production support experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and operational support capability.
• Willingness to work on-call and after hours.
• F5 experience or certifications
• Exposure to networking, infrastructure, or load balancing.
• Scripting or automation knowledge

Working Conditions

• Standby rotation (every 2–3 weeks)
• After-hours support required
• Overtime managed via time-off-in-lieu
