Hybrid Infrastructure Architect

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Hybrid Infrastructure Architect to lead the design and management of our core on-premises systems and modern cloud integrations. This role is responsible for the "backbone" of our technical environment—ensuring that our on-premises servers, complex networking, and cloud identity platforms are secure, scalable, and highly available. The ideal candidate bridges the gap between traditional data center management (AD, SQL, Networking) and modern M365/Intune cloud ecosystems.

Duties

• Design and manage core on-premises infrastructure, including Active Directory (AD), Certificate Authorities (PKI), and Windows Server environments.
• Oversee SQL Server architecture, ensuring database availability, security, and performance across the organization.
• Manage complex networking and security, including firewalls, routing, and the integration of on-premises connectivity with cloud environments.
• Architect and support Unified Communications, specifically focusing on the deployment and management of Teams Phone systems.
• Lead Hybrid Identity & Device Management by optimizing M365 services, Azure AD, and Intune (Autopilot/Compliance policies).
• Establish technical standards for system reliability, ensuring that on-premises and cloud-hosted workloads operate as a single, cohesive ecosystem.
• Develop technical documentation and system models to guide the engineering team through implementations and migrations.
• Ensure security-by-design, incorporating rigorous standards into the network and server architecture to protect data integrity.

Experience

• Deep On-Premises Expertise: Proven experience managing Active Directory, Certificate Authorities, and Windows/Linux Server environments.
• Database & App Support: Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server administration and optimization.
• Network Engineering: Expertise in firewalls, switching, and routing—specifically in hybrid environments.
• Modern Workplace: Proficiency in the M365 stack, including Intune, Azure AD, and Teams Voice/Phone configurations.
• Hybrid Migration: Experience moving workloads between on-premises and cloud (Azure/M365) while maintaining security and performance.
• Problem Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills for complex, multi-layered system issues (from the hardware level up to the cloud).
• Leadership: Ability to provide technical mentorship and serve as the final escalation point for infrastructure-related challenges.

• $80,000.00-$104,000.00 per year
